Sparty on the move
MSU’s Spartan statue, commonly known as “Sparty,” was moved last week from the place he has called home for nearly 60 years to his new home inside the addition now under construction at Spartan Stadium. For years, Sparty has stood guard at the intersection of Kalamazoo Street, Chestnut Road and Red Cedar Road. The new Spartan statue will be displayed in a new plaza that will be located near the intersection, which is being reconfigured into two “T” intersections.
