Subcommittee proposes 10 percent hike for 'U'
President Peter McPherson says he is very pleased with the proposed
10 percent increase in state funding for the University approved
May 11 by a House subcommittee.
In January, Gov. John Engler called for an increase of 3.2 percent
for MSU over last year's appropriation and again proposed a
tier system to split the state's 15 universities into groups
