'U' aiding in rebuilding Afghanistan

MSU’s R. Mick Fulton travels to Afghanistan later this month to help in the design and building of a laboratory similar to MSU’s Diagnostic Center for Population and Animal Health (DCPAH). Construction of the lab will be one of the first steps toward rebuilding Afghanistan’s agriculture and food industry. Fulton was involved in the design and building of the DCPAH, as well as a similar facility at Purdue University. |
Over the course of his career, R. Mick Fulton has been involved in the design and build of two animal diagnostic laboratories, experiences he will take to Afghanistan later this month to help that country rebuild its agriculture and food industry. (Full Story)
10-year 'U' study indicates link between smoking and suicidal thoughts, attempts
People who smoke are more likely to have suicidal thoughts or attempt suicide than nonsmokers, according to a decade-long research project at MSU. (Full Story)
MSU Extension announces new director of organization
Thomas Coon has been named director of MSU Extension (MSUE), the university’s statewide outreach organization that offers access to knowledge and lifelong learning resources to residents in communities throughout Michigan. The appointment was effective March 1. (Full Story)
