Students praise Neeraj J. Buch for the effectiveness and relevance of his courses and for his eagerness. He teaches a required undergraduate course with a laboratory, undergraduate elective courses, specialized graduate courses and outreach courses for practicing engineer. He introduces effective new techniques in his courses and continues to explore innovations in instruction.

Gene Burns
James Madison College

According to students and colleagues, Gene Burns teaches with passion and careful preparation. Adept in both empirical research and normative exploration, he is a tutor in complexity. He forms discussion so that many sides of an issue can be considered. Students appreciate his course discussions, which are engaging and deliberative, and see Burns as “an inspirational teacher in the classroom.”
