Alexander S. Raikhel, professor of entomology, received the Entomological Society of America's Recognition Award in Insect Physiology, Biochemistry and Toxicology.

Robert C. Smith, professor of medicine and of psychiatry, published the second edition of his basic interviewing text, Patient-Centered Interviewing -- An Evidence-Based Method. Simultaneously, "Evidence-Based Interviewing," a videotape produced by MSU Broadcasting Services was published for national distribution. Both are used as basic course material at schools in the United States and abroad for teaching interviewing and provider-patient relationships to students, physicians, nurses and other care givers.

Ronald F. Cichy, director and professor, School of Hospitality Business, was inducted into the School of Hospitality Business Alumni Association's Wall of Fame.
