A set of two 30-second video productions, titled "Advancing Knowledge, Transforming Lives," have been judged the nation's top university video public service announcements/ads by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).

The videos, awarded the 2003 CASE Circle of Excellence Gold Medal, were created by MSU University Relations. They were produced by Sandra Conn, executive director for university marketing and global marketing strategist, and were edited by Kevin Epling, manager of multimedia services and video producer, using video and images from across campus.

The spots began airing in the fall of 2002 during football games broadcast nationally on CBS, ABC and ESPN. They were also aired nationally throughout the basketball season.

CASE is the professional organization for advancement professionals at all levels who work in alumni relations, communications and development. The main office is in Washington, D.C., and it also operates an office in London.

CASE's membership includes more than 3,000 colleges, universities and independent elementary and secondary schools in the United States, Canada, Mexico and 42 other countries. They are the largest nonprofit education association in terms of institutional membership and serve more than 38,000 advancement professionals.
