MSU’s faculty, staff and retirees are among the most dedicated and generous in the Big Ten. Collectively, this group of donors gave and pledged more than $16.4 million in cash and deferred commitments during the 2006-2007 fiscal year.

A significant portion of this total was given during the All University Campaign, the annual effort to bring attention to the needs that exist on campus, needs that gifts from faculty, staff and retirees can fill. The 2008 campaign again includes a component in which MSU students phone community members to ask for contributions.
While the calls generally have been well accepted by those contacted over the past few years, student callers sometimes have reservations. They wonder whether faculty, staff and retirees will be receptive to requests made by students.
Typically, they are. “I have had great experiences talking with faculty, staff and retiree donors,” said senior Caitlin Dupre, a student supervisor in MSU’s telemarketing program. “I enjoy hearing about their passion for MSU, and many times they make substantial donations to the campaign.”
Such experiences underscore the level of enthusiasm for and commitment to MSU and its mission among this key group, Dupre said.
Calling for the 2008 All University Campaign will begin the week of March 24.
